Zambian ARTS Publishing House is a proudly Zambian-founded social enterprise and hybrid publishing company, established in 2023. We provide high-quality, affordable, and accessible publishing solutions that amplify African voices and make professional publishing available to both emerging and established authors.

Our Story

Founded by Jimmy Kayika, a Mandela Washington Fellowship alumnus and finalist of the 2023 Ngoma National Awards for Literature, Zambian ARTS Publishing House has grown into a trusted publishing partner for authors across Africa and beyond.

Since our establishment, we have worked with writers from Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, South Africa, Nigeria, Malawi, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, and other countries, helping transform manuscripts into professionally published books that educate, inspire, and preserve African voices.

Our Flagship Initiative

In June 2026, we launched the Read To The World Project, our flagship literacy and local literature initiative.

The project brings together authors, schools, libraries, businesses, development partners, and communities to expand access to quality books while creating greater publishing opportunities for local writers. Through publishing sponsorships, strategic partnerships, and nationwide distribution, Read To The World is helping strengthen Zambia’s reading culture and increase access to locally relevant literature.

As part of this initiative, we are working towards distributing 100,000 copies by December 2030, contributing to improved literacy, educational opportunities, and the growth of Zambia’s publishing industry.
