What is Zambian ARTS Publishing House?
Zambian ARTS Publishing House is a Zambian-founded hybrid publishing company established in 2023. We help authors professionally publish, market, and distribute books in Zambia and internationally. Learn more about us here.
Who can publish with you?
Anyone can publish with us. We work with first-time and experienced authors from Zambia and around the world. We publish books across all genres and categories.
Do I need to be a Zambian citizen?
No. We proudly publish authors from across Africa and internationally.
Do you work remotely?
Yes. Our publishing process is fully digital, allowing authors to work with us from anywhere in the world. Printed books can be collected or delivered where applicable. Learn more here.
Can schools, churches, NGOs and businesses publish with you?
Absolutely. We work with individuals, schools, churches, NGOs, government institutions, businesses and other organizations looking to publish books, reports, manuals, biographies, commemorative books, annual reports and educational materials.
Publishing & Manuscript Submission
How do I submit my manuscript?
Simply choose a publishing package or individual service, complete the online submission form, upload your manuscript, and make your secure payment. Our publishing team will then begin the onboarding process.
What file formats do you accept?
We recommend Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx). PDF files may be accepted for review, but Word documents are preferred for editing.
What publishing packages do you offer?

Can I upgrade my package later?
Yes. If your project has not yet been completed, you may upgrade by simply paying the difference between your current package and your preferred package.
Can I revise my manuscript after submission?
Yes. Minor revisions can be made before editing and typesetting begin. Major revisions after production has started may require additional charges.
Do you edit manuscripts?
Yes. Professional editing is included in all publishing packages and can also be requested as a standalone service.
Can you design my book cover?
Yes. Every publishing package includes a professionally designed custom book cover.
Will my book receive an ISBN?
Yes. Every published book receives its own International Standard Book Number (ISBN).
Who owns the copyright to my book?
You do. Authors retain full copyright ownership of their work. We simply receive the publishing rights necessary to produce, market and distribute your book.
Do you publish eBooks?
Yes. We publish both printed books and digital eBooks.
Can my book be listed on Amazon Kindle?
Yes. Amazon Kindle publishing is available as an optional service.
Can I publish under a pen name?
Yes. Authors may publish using a pen name or pseudonym while keeping their legal information confidential for contractual purposes.
Can you publish children’s books, poetry, novels or academic books?
Yes. We publish virtually every genre including fiction, non-fiction, children’s books, poetry, biographies, memoirs, educational books, religious books, self-help books, research publications and many more.
Printing, Marketing & Distribution
Will my book be printed?
Yes. We provide professional printing services. Depending on your publishing package, complimentary sample copies may be included. Additional copies can be ordered at any time. View our printing rates here.
Can I order additional printed copies?
Yes. Authors may order additional printed copies whenever they need them.
Do you print books on demand?
Yes. We offer print-on-demand services, allowing authors to print additional copies as needed without maintaining large inventories.
Do you market books?
Yes. We offer book marketing services, promotional materials, online exposure and additional marketing options depending on your publishing package.
Where will my book be sold?
Depending on your package and selected services, your book may be available through:

Do you guarantee book sales?
No. While we actively market and distribute books, no publisher can guarantee book sales.
Do you help with book launches?
Yes. Our Standard and Elite Publishing Packages include book launch consultancy to help authors successfully launch their books.
Publishing Process
What happens after I make payment?
Once your payment and manuscript submission have been received, your project is assigned to our publishing team. We review your submission, create your publishing account, and one of our publishing representatives contacts you with the next steps. Most author accounts are created within 24 hours.
How long does publishing take?
Publishing timelines vary depending on manuscript length, editing requirements and author response times. Your publishing coordinator will provide an estimated production schedule after reviewing your manuscript.
How will I know the progress of my book?
We provide regular updates throughout each stage of the publishing process so you’ll always know the progress of your project.
Payments & Policies
Do you offer payment plans?
Publishing packages are generally paid in full before production begins. If you require a special payment arrangement, please contact us before submitting your manuscript.
Is my payment secure?
Yes. All payments made through our website are processed through a secure online payment system.
Can I cancel after making payment?
Publishing fees are generally non-refundable once work has commenced, as professional services begin shortly after submission.
Premium Membership
What is Premium Membership?
Premium Membership is our annual subscription programme offering discounted publishing services, free publishing consultations, writing resources, exclusive updates and additional reader benefits.
Do you offer publishing consultations?
Yes. We offer professional publishing consultations, while Premium Members receive complimentary consultancy sessions during scheduled periods.
Zambian ARTS Bookstore
What is the Zambian ARTS Bookstore?
The Zambian ARTS Bookstore is our online bookstore where readers can discover and purchase books from African authors. We offer both eBooks and printed books across multiple genres. The bookstore also includes selected free books and public domain classics.
Can anyone buy books from the bookstore?
Yes. Our bookstore is open to readers worldwide.

Do you deliver printed books?
Yes. Printed books can be delivered where applicable or collected from designated locations. Delivery charges are displayed during checkout.
Can I buy books without creating an account?
Yes. Guest checkout is available. However, creating an account allows you to track your orders, manage downloads and access your purchase history.
Can I publish my book and have it listed in the bookstore?
Absolutely. Books published through Zambian ARTS Publishing House are eligible for listing in the Zambian ARTS Bookstore. Independent authors may also apply to have their books listed, subject to our quality review process.
How do I search for a book?
You can browse by title, author, genre or use the search feature to quickly find books.
Are bookstore payments secure?
Yes. All bookstore purchases are processed through our secure online payment system.
Can I request a refund?
Due to the nature of digital products, eBooks are generally non-refundable once downloaded. Refunds or replacements for printed books are handled according to our Returns & Refund Policy.
How often is the bookstore updated?
Our catalogue is updated regularly with new releases, featured titles, promotional offers and free reading resources.
